House (2500 sq. ft.) in Liberty, MO
10.4 miles from Smithville Lake
My place is close to the city center, the airport, parks, and nightlife. Located on a one acre lot, three blocks from Historic Downtown Liberty, and one block away from William Jewell College, in a quiet historic neighborhood on a one-way street. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space, the neighborhood, and the ambiance. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with older kids). This is probably one of the coolest places in the Midwest to stay. This historic home is filled to the brim with beautiful antiques and collectibles dating from the 1840's to 1900. The neighborhood is fantastic with some of the best neighbors you could ever want to know, lots of room to play or just relax and only a short walk to the Historic Downtown, with loads of great restaurants and a unique shopping experience. This is my home; I'm a semi-retired antique dealer, and having just bought a condo in Florida I'd like to share my home on a part-time basis. Feel free to call me with any questions.

**Read our guest reviews I have included as part of our pictures below. ** We are a new listing on VRBO but experienced in hosting. Our home is an ultra contemporary solid concrete truly inspiring experience. We accommodate both couples get aways as well as business professionals with full cable and fast speed internet. You'll love our home if you're visiting the KC Convention Center (Bartle Hall) events as we are a quick 1/2 mile (3 min) walk to the convention center and 6 min walk to The Power and Light District. You may choose to get there even faster by Uber during all seasons. We are frankly super close to all events downtown. One important point of difference about our home is we are in a safe, easy to navigate quite neighborhood. We are also a great choice if you're traveling on an adventure across the country as we have a alley side large private driveway offering off-street parking. What I really love about our neighborhood is the amazing food options just 100 yards down the street. We have The Westside Local, Chez Elle, The Blue Bird Bistro as well as a wonderful coffee shop called Goat Hill. Everything you need for a little get away. There is still more... I don't want to ruin all that you will find when you come. :) Over all the home offers a quiet and secure downtown neighborhood experience. We are nestled in the cool, Westside neighborhood. Search our area and you'll see there is a lot to do and enjoy. Our home specifically is very thoroughly thought out. I created it from my imagination, from scratch, and built it myself. We took time to draw out each room and each necessity to know the home would be both accommodating and functional as well as intriguing and inspiring. The home creation was a passion project. I wanted to have more than the normal functional aspect of a larger home in a smaller foot print. The result is a core home that will hopefully be a centennial home physically, flexible in function when needed and adaptable over time. As for ambiance and special amenities, the house contains luxury home furnishings, a full kitchen including gas range, 6 ft Kohler bathtub for relaxing evenings, a rain shower head shower, full marble bathroom, outdoor patio, t.v. room for your entertainment and a king size bed for the days you just want to sleep in. Second bed is a normal queen mattress "murphy style" bed. It is extremely comfortable. When the master bedroom door and bathroom doors are closed the home becomes a two bedroom each bed is isolated from the other. A home office desk and wireless internet make working from here a joy also. My hope is after you have spent time in my home you'll love the home as much as we've taken time to create it! Neighborhood Summary: (The Westside) Our walkable neighborhood houses hip and delectable restaurants, coffee shops and shopping. In this trendy neighborhood you're surrounded by new Dwell-like homes and 100 year old houses; this eclectic area is something to see as it has been documented in many shelter magazines profiling modern architecture in KC! Driving & Parking: You are a short drive to The Kansas City Convention Center (Bartle Hall), to KC Power & Light, The Midland Theatre, the Kauffman Center for The Performing Arts, the Crossroads Arts district; as well as an 11 min drive to Country Club Plaza and Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. *There is both street and private off-street parking at our house.

The condo offers a quiet and secure downtown neighborhood experience - nestled in the cool, Westside neighborhood. While the property can accommodate 6 as there are queen beds in all three bedrooms - there is also one, full-size couch in the upstairs living room that would be an adequate bed for your additional guest. A huge, beautiful vintage apartment with a craft kitchen/bar, three queen beds, newly remodeled bath and three striking outdoor spaces—a deck and two balconies with amazing views of downtown KC. Ideally situated in downtown Kansas City between the historic West Side and Crossroads Arts District. Walking distance to the Convention Center, Kauffman, restaurants, music, bars, light rail line and lots more. Book this highly-reviewed loft now! Space You'll be staying in a lovingly restored loft that takes up the entire second floor of a historic brick building. Ideal for business trips, family vacations, or friends traveling together. Enormous at over 1600 feet, the space includes a living/dining room, kitchen/bar, gorgeous bedrooms and newly remodeled bath. The open living space and front bedroom feature private walk-out porches near the skyline and the enormous full-size deck off the kitchen/office serves up stunning downtown views. I'm a student of the local craft cocktail scene, and the kitchen reflects that, with a bar-height counter, an array of glassware and all the tools you'll need to create a Manhattan or Mojito if the mood strikes you. Please note that the kitchen is fully functional, but minimal (think hotplates and toaster oven instead of a gas stove)—so if you plan to do a lot of cooking, scan my other listings, each of which have kitchens with full-size appliances. If you'd consider yourself whimsical and want to save a few bucks, ask about the Craft Beer Discount. Guest access You'll have the key code to unit 2, which takes up the entire second floor and is otherwise known as the "Blue Fox." Also, not to be overlooked—the basement laundry room. (If you're staying five nights or more, request a key if needed.) Guest interaction We may not meet face to face, but I'm typically close by and happy to offer tips and recommendations on the local arts and food scene, especially all things related to indie music, coffee culture, craft cocktails and beer. Neighborhood overview You likely already know. But if not: You'll be in the heart of downtown Kansas City, which is enjoying an urban renaissance reflected in painting and music and dance and architecture, and also in local breweries, bistros, cocktails and coffee. It's a fun time to be here and you'll be in the middle of it all. You'll be within walking distance to everything (slight exaggeration, but not a large one). Two blocks from the Kauffman Performing Arts Center. Dozens of galleries, bars and restaurants around the corner. A half mile from Liberty Memorial, Crown Center, Union Station. Under a mile to the Sprint Center, the College Basketball Experience, and the Power and Light District. If you're looking for a home base for your downtown Kansas City adventure, this is it. Check out the Guidebook/Map for some of my favorite local gems. If you're interested, I also have a couple unlisted favorites I like to recommend. Just So You Know... Depending on the route you take to arrive, your first impression of my neighborhood may not be awesome (a couple guests have mentioned this)—the city has some delayed maintenance to do on a highway ramp and several sidewalks, and there are a couple ugly buildings slated for redevelopment. But have no fear! This area is highly sought after and once you arrive, you'll see why (guests mention this too)—your loft is right in the middle of KC's downtown renaissance. So no worries. Getting around A lot of your destinations will be within walking distance if you're working or playing downtown. Light rail runs downtown, and Bike Share KC rentals are available nearby, as well as a comprehensive bus system. Uber is also popular around here. You'll have free street parking at our location, a quiet residential boulevard just around the corner from all the action. Other things to note I supply bedding, towels, an equipped kitchen, and all basic amenities as well as high speed internet, a blue tooth music player, and Netflix and Amazon Prime video on demand. If you have questions about specific items, feel free ask. There's a basement laundry room available if you're staying five nights or more. If you'd like a key, just ask.

Uber is popular around here as well. You'll have free street parking at our location, a quiet residential boulevard just around the corner from all the action. Other things to note I supply clean sheets, towels, an equipped kitchen, and all basic amenities as well as high speed internet, a blue tooth music player, and Netflix and Amazon Prime video on demand (no cable). If you have questions about specific items, feel free ask. If you're traveling with "extra" people (up to four), I have an inflatable double-size air mattress that fits easily in a corner of the living room. I'll provide sheets and a blanket. Note there's a $15 up-charge for each person over two. There's a basement laundry room available if you're staying five nights or more. If you'd like access, just ask. If you're still reading, well done!—and one more thing. I clean this loft thoroughly after every stay, and I'm a conscientious guy—think vacuuming, spraying, scrubbing, etc. However, this unit is 100 years old, and the floors show it. When you're writing your review, I'd love to get a 5 star "clean" rating, so make sure the building's nicks and paint marks don't give you a false impression of dirt. It's tricky that way.
